Codex course

Module 12 of 14

Publish Your Website with Cloudflare Pages

Time: about 15 minutes

Video lesson: about 6 minutes, followed by the written steps below.

Difficulty: Beginner

No programming experience needed.

Why this matters

Until now, the website has been a local preview on your own computer. Publishing creates a live website: a version that other people can open with a web link.

What you'll learn

  • How to ask Codex to use Cloudflare Pages where it is available.
  • How to open and test a live website.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Type this message and press Return:
Codex message

Please publish my saved my-task-list website with Cloudflare Pages. First, check what you can do automatically in my current setup. Explain anything I need to do, such as signing in, choosing an account, or approving a publish action. Do not publish until you explain the plan.

  1. Read the plan. If Codex asks you to sign in to Cloudflare, complete the sign-in window and return to Codex.
  2. When you understand the plan, type:
Codex message

I understand the plan. Please publish the website with Cloudflare Pages and give me the live website link when it is ready.

  1. If Codex shows a permission or approval request, read it and approve it only if it matches the plan.
  2. Open the live website link.
  3. Check that you can see My Tasks. Add a test task, mark it finished, and refresh the page.

How to check it worked: The live link opens your website and the task-list features work as they did in your local preview.

If something doesn't work

Codex message

The Cloudflare Pages link does not show my My Tasks website. I can see [describe what you see]. Please check this one problem and tell me the next step.

What just happened?

Cloudflare Pages placed a copy of your website online. A live website is the version that people can open through a web link, not only on your own computer.

Codex may have prepared the website, connected it to Cloudflare, or completed the deployment. You confirmed the important result by opening the live link yourself.

By the end of this lesson

  • You will know what Codex can do automatically with Cloudflare Pages.
  • You will have a live link for your website.
  • You will have checked the live site yourself in a browser.

Module checklist

  • You have a live website link.
  • The link shows My Tasks.
  • You have tested adding, finishing, and refreshing a task on the live site.

Next module: You will connect a domain you own, such as mytasks.com.
